On December 23, 1953 in Glendale, California, Vivian Schmid and Charles Alley welcomed their daughter Cheryl Gay Alley into the world. Not much is known about her childhood in regards to the schools where she received her early education. However, she was known to be very adventurous as a child, as she learned to handle firearms at the age of 5 and was able to raise the likes of skinks and monkeys at home.
Howard then attended California University of Northridge where she completed the requirements for a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology. In the mid-1990s, when she visited the Central Asia region, Cheryl was inspired to write her first book titled “Facing Jinn: A Novel”. The story is about two sisters who went to India to buy silk for their trade, one of them mysteriously disappearing.
